The Steel Beam Lifter team had a full-on steel logistics project recently – working alongside Ronnie and Mark of the Work Place Partner crew in Central London.
An impressive 5 metre long x 1.2 metre wide fish tank was being constructed on the first floor and needed a substantial steel sub-frame creating to support the 6 tonnes of water it will contain!
Our contract was to transport and feed in to a first floor platform over 30 pieces of steel, most of which were 7+ metres long and weighed approximately 240Kg each. The Hooka’s ability to neatly stack the steels ready for lifting, then rotate them round to orientate them in the correct installation direction proved ideal.
The machine was then able to ‘spear feed’ them end-on onto the platform (at a height of 3.7 Metres) to the waiting steel fixing team. The job ran very smoothly, with 7+ tonnes of steel safely lifted into the first floor room in a single day.
