Installing a Long Steel Beam in Caterham

Hooka was called in by Upright Construction to take on a 3 section, 17 metre long supporting beam near Caterham.

With the largest section of the 3.5+ tonne steel weighing in at 1700kg it was a 2 machine lift for the Hooka team.

First challenge was to squeeze in through the scaffolding wrapping the property before carefully ducking under the 2.06m high internal doorway. Hooka’s ‘turn on the spot’ manoeuvrability enabled the machines to then work their way through to the back of the house and safely lift the 3 sections into place so they could be bolted to each other and the pre-installed steel columns.

Job all done smoothly and safely in a single day.
